PX

PX is a Compact, remote KVM access, directly to your computer or server. PX is a high performance KVM IP Gateway providing complete BIOS level access and control of your computer or server, from any location. Compact and cost-effective, the PX comes with 128-bit SSL security as standard, and is equally adept in small business environments, remote support applications, and Enterprise data centers. Whatever your circumstance, wherever your computer, PX gives you the confidence of complete access and control, always.

Process

The PX USB version features virtual media technology allowing a remote user to effortlessly move files from his USB or CD-ROM drive to target servers that may be anywhere in the world. With PX you no longer have to be physically present at each server in order to install or recover software applications and install OS patches. PX multiplies the power and reach of every technician or small business administrator, giving them immediate and total control over their computer or server whether they are in the office, at home, or even on the road.

The single-port PX handily solves the problem of blocked server access in the data center. With a number of PX devices connected, multiple remote users can control multiple servers, all at the same time. Additional PX devices can be added as your data center grows and the entire inventory can be managed under Minicom's KVM.net® II global centralized server management system. The combination of KVM.net® II and PX is ideal for corporations operating servers at multiple sites such as testing labs, university campuses, branch offices, and multi-floor facilities. The rack-mountable PX also uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for efficient, clutter free power management.

The PX Serial is a palm-sized, single port RS232 device providing non-blocking access for any number of remote users to any number of individual serial devices including headless servers, routers, managed network switches, serially-based power management devices, and telecommunications/telephone exchange systems. The device comes with a range of mounting options for complete installation flexibility.

Outcomes

PX is an indispensable tool for remotely supporting mission-critical computers and devices - where every instant of added downtime may be critical to service provision. PX lets you instantly access the remote computer's BIOS, and accurately diagnose and even fix system faults - saving you the time and cost of a field technician roll out. PX is ideal for market applications running mission critical services on a single computer/server such as medical, telecom, security, Software as a Service, and banking and finance.

IP Control

IP Control is an affordable remote KVM gateway providing access and control of your computers and servers, no matter how distant, via a standard web-browser. Featuring KVM IP technology that penetrates to the target computer's innermost BIOS level, IP Control gives you the power to access and reboot downed devices without having to be physically within reach. Desk-mountable and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, IP Control comes with 128-bit SSL security as standard, and is equally adept in single computer environments, small to medium size data centers, and digital signage networks.

Process

IP Control is an indispensable tool for remotely supporting mission-critical computers and intelligent devices - where every instant of added downtime becomes critical to business, or perilous to life. IP Control lets you directly access the remote computer's BIOS, and accurately diagnose the system fault - saving you the time, expense and inefficiency of a field technician roll out.

IP Control is equally at home providing remote access and control for small to medium size data centers that employ a variety of KVM switches and servers. IP Control seamlessly adds-on remote, out-of-band KVM and Serial access without forcing you to replace your entire KVM switch inventory, and thereby safeguarding your existing KVM investment.

With IP Control you can remotely monitor and maintain computer media players for digital signage. It controls in real time, and with virtually no extra cost, the distribution of media content on any number of players and enables troubleshooting even when the operating system is down.

Smart IP Access

Smart IP Access is a rack-mountable IP device for remote, out-of-band KVM access to servers and network devices. It provides access via LAN, WAN, or Internet connection to either a single server or to mixed server environments. Smart IP Access is ideal for data centers, high-density server environments, and medium to large businesses that are managed by legacy KVM switches.

Process

Smart IP Access can be attached to almost any switch or server, making it the perfect add-on device and preserving your existing investment. It comes with configuration definitions for all Minicom and most 3rd party KVM switches.

Smart IP Access provides built in remote control over two Serial devices. For example, Serial control of power management enables you to reboot remotely and to power servers on and off from any location.

Smart IP Access offers industry standard, 128-bit SSL encryption to prevent security breaches. In addition, the dual IP connection provides redundancy and security, enabling you to connect to an external network in addition to a secure internal network.

Outcomes

Smart IP Access can be used in either stand-alone applications or can be managed by KVM.net® II. KVM.net® II is Minicom's comprehensive enterprise system for secure, centralized management of global KVM access to servers. It unifies administration, monitoring, and control of all servers and users in an organization, across geographical locations. Smart IP Access also allows redundant direct access while remaining under KVM.net® II security policy.

Fast Facts

  • Adds remote KVM control via IP to servers, computers, and KVM switches
  • Remote Serial control over routers and other devices
  • High security and redundancy capabilities
  • Plug & Play compatibility with legacy KVM systems

Products   Minicom   KVM IP Gateways   Power on Cable

Power on Cable

The Power on Cable (PoC) from Minicom is a single port power controlTM (SPPC) device that enables remote power control (power on/off/reboot) of any connected device. The PoC is complementary to Minicom's line of OOB remote KVM access solutions, which together provide the complete remote support package. The PoC is serially controlled via a Minicom KVM IP gateway - PX, IP Control - thus preventing costly mistakes and ensuring the power commands are sent only to the required device.

Process

The PoC is targeted at any IT environment that includes mission critical computers, servers or network and monitoring devices, which require 24/7 remote power management to ensure systems are up and running at all times. These include computer rooms, server rooms, data centers, production lines, distributed intelligent devices, industrial applications and more. Minicom's PoC solves the problem of power control to remote IT infrastructure in cases where a PDU cannot provide enough electrical current or when the number of ports are not optimized to the application. Its unique and robust "power cord" design meet the stringent requirements of cable management in IT environments and make it extremely easy to slide several units together and control several devices through the same interface.
